Following the second rebuttal to the McCumber agreement completed in tribal council with a quorum, on December 8th, 1893, Ozhawashko be nay shea or Yellowbird, counselor for Chief Little Shell III, stood and presented to Chief Little Shell III and the council the murder in cold blood of his son. In addition, how, despite witnesses, the US Government refused to prosecute the perpetrator.
As a result, Little Shell III and his council, continuing to act in authority over their ancestral nation, censured the United States Government and all officials, including those of the state.
